Eire Óg Greystones Dinner Dance 2026!

    07/03/2026

What an honour it was to fulfill the role of Chair and MC at the Eire Óg Greystones dinner dance and awards night, held in the splendid surroundings of Greystones Golf Club!

Congratulations to all the winners on the night your achievements truly inspire. I’m lucky to have witnessed firsthand the remarkable growth and success of Eire Og, and seen how investing in Camogie and LGFA is a core part of making our clubs vibrant community spaces for everyone - when the opportunities for women are created, success is never far behind.

    TAP Traveller event in Trinity

I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Trinity TAP event, where I was moved by the inspiring journey of Nora Corcoran. She shared her experiences navigating the challenges of education and emphasized the importance of lifelong learning in her life and within the Traveller community.

Meeting Nora and her supportive husband, Tom, was a true highlight! Her story is a testament to resilience and pride in one’s culture.

One powerful quote from the event that resonated with me was: “You can do whatever you want to, and be whatever you want to.”

Grateful for events like this that promote inclusion and empower voices from diverse backgrounds.

Greystones for Palestine - Bake Sale 2026

    14/02/2026

A very successful fundraiser in Byrne’s Pub, Kilcoole that raised 3365 EUR for non-profits Uisce for Gaza and Gaza Go Bragh! A huge thank you to our fabulous bakers, so proud of this community of solidarity.

In total, our little community humanitarian group has raised 6000 EUR to help people in Gaza since last August and continues to remind the world, week after week, that Greystones hasn’t forgotten about Palestine, especially in light of current events.

We shouldn’t underestimate the value and importance of community action. It gives us a space to connect and feel meaningful at a time where everything seems beyond our control. It gives us a stronger voice, because it unites our concerns and allows us to act together, as a collective.

  • Wicklow Apartheid Free Zone

    12/01/2026

We’ve launched the Wicklow Apartheid Free Zone! This group was formed following a meeting in December 2025. The launch, which was held at the Bridge Tavern, included speakers Senator Francis Black, John Brady TD, Palestinian Ambassador Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid, humanitarian doctor Mohammed Abu Mughessib and local BDS activist Bronagh ni Bhian.

The initiative aims to encourage local businesses, organisations, and community members to explore ethical alternatives and solidarity actions in support of Palestinian human rights.

We’re calling on local businesses and community groups to join us! This initiative is designed to not negatively impact businesses in any way, but allow them to facilitate your right to purchase ethically sourced goods, not manufactured/produced on stolen lands under oppression. Think of pharmacies, coffee shops, fruit and veg, barbers, hair salons, bars, restaurants, motor factors, garages. Use the power of your Euro.

  • Social Democrats' Conference 2026

    07/02/2026

This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Social Democrats’ Conference in Cork. The panels sparked great discussions and debates, covering trends in local politics, public transport, housing, disability services, education and Irish Unity. Some really interesting insights from academics and party colleagues alike.

Very proud that this party I’ve been a part of since its infancy now has its leader’s speech on national media! Very proud of our party leader Holly Cairns.

Also really great to connect with local branch members and organisers as well! We’re the future of Wicklow.
